There are always a lot of questions, if you do not find the answer to what interests you here, do not hesitate to contact us.

Who is freeidiving for?

Freediving is for almost everyone. Freediving is about relaxation, exploring, excitement, travel or the connection of human with nature. It's not just a sport in which freedivers dive to great depths, it's mainly a wonderful activity that will allows you to experience the beauty underwater comfortably in one breath and better understand yourself. I taught ten-year-old children, but also a 76-year-old gentleman who has freedive playfully up to fifteen meters. I had students who were really scared of the open water before the course.

The popularity of freediving is still growing and it is practiced by many people of all categories. Of course, it is a physical activity and if you want to achieve great performance, the training is very intense. It is not an adrenaline sport, it's the oposite. It's about calming the mind, about relaxation. People who don't look like athletes often achieve great results. At the same time, people with various difficulties can dive on one breath.

Why choose Molchanovs, which course and why with you?

There are a lot of education and training systems, the choice is really big. They have the same basics, but may differ slightly in some details. I mean the structure, or what is more emphasized, than they would differ in something fundamental. Molchanovs courses are really very modern, they are created by today's best freedivers. Great emphasis is placed on practical training. Lots of instructions, technical and mental exercises and really gradual adaptation and improvement. After completing the course, you will gain access to the Molchanovs Movement community and to training plans created by Alexey and other active freedivers. This makes it unique and will help you develop further.

However, the selection is mainly about the instructor with whom you are doing the course. The instructor has the quality of the course in his hands. There are a number of them here in the Czech Republic, even at the world's top level. You probably won't make a mistake. References, experiences, or performances can be helpful. But it is not the case that everyone who can freedive very deep is a good instructor as well. For me, this is my first experience in Czech, so far I have worked abroad. But during those seven years of intensive teaching and training freedivers, I have gained a lot of experience and I really enjoy it. I also offer a complete package, not only courses, but also guided trainings and events in depth.

The courses follow each other and it is definitely good to complete them from the beginning. You don't have to do them all in one place or under one agency. But it really makes sense to go from the beginning, step by step, not to hurry, to constantly improve and to be physically, technically and mentally prepared for each other. Each new course brings something new and the better your skills are, the more you can focus on learning something new.

What do I need to know before enrolling in a course?

You must be able to swim a distance of 200m on the surface non-stop. We will teach you the rest.

Do I need a doctor's certificate?

Freediving is a physical activity and your body and mind have a certain load. During breath hold dives, certain changes occur in the body that allow us to stay under the water longer. It will be something new for your body, so I definitely recommend a check-up at the doctor, if possible at a specialist. The application includes a medical form with questions about your medical condition. Print it out and read it in detail. If you answer "NO" to each question (I don't have this health problem), that's enough. However, if you only answer "YES" once, or if you are not quite sure about the answer, see your doctor. Properly completed forms (even if all answers are "NO") do not forget to bring to the first training or course. You can't go into the water without it.

How can I register and pay?

If you are interested in signing up for one of our courses, write us an email. In the next email you will receive a registration form, payment terms and business conditions. The deposit is 50 percent of the total amount. After filling out the form and paying the deposit, you will be registered for the course, you will receive access to your Molchanovs freediver account and study materials. Without registration and payment of a deposit, your place in the training or course cannot be reserved.

What equipment do I need for a pool course?

Because freediving is becoming a very popular sport today, the selection is really very large. Every year, new types of carbon fins, freediving suits or computers with incredible functions come to the market. Different shapes, colors. Splendor. The basic equipment for freediving are a low-volume mask, snorkel, long blade fins, wetsuit and a weight belt. Every thing has its meaning. The fins are designed to create maximum propulsion with minimum effort. You don't even feel freediving suits on you, but they guarantee thermal comfort and a super glide in the water. It is definitely good to buy your equipment over time, which you know, that you like and that you feel comfortable in it. This is really important. But if you are not sure which one to choose, do not buy anything in advance. We'll talk about everything before you begin. At courses and trainings, it is possible to try several popular freediving masks, test them in the water and then choose the right one. I'll lend you a belt and weights. I have several neck weights of different weights or nose clips. I'll show you the differences between wetsuits and help you choose the right one. There are really big differences between them. In materials, cut or thickness. It is certainly not true that the world champion's suit is the right one for me.

Participants in weekend courses can borrow a freediving mask, snorkel, weight belt, weights and neckweight. In addition to the fins and wetsuit, everything is needed. The water in the pool is warm, the basic course can only be completed in a swimsuit, but the neoprene guaranteeing thermal comfort is especially important for people who get cold sooner. As soon as you feel cold in the water, your metabolism will work faster, you will not relax and your performance will be affected.

It is important to keep the body hydrated during freediving, so have a water bottle with you. In the classroom, you will need a yoga matt and comfortable sportswear.

Am I correct that I can take all Lap pool courses without taking the depth part of the Wave?

Yes exactly. Lap 1, 2 and 3 pool courses will take place in Trutnov. You can complete them all and complete the Wave depth section later at any of our depth events. We will try to organize as many of them as possible. As students perform much better in warm and clean water, most events will take place at sea, or in Deepspot or Y-40 pools. Students will always be guaranteed the opportunity to freedive to the maximum depths of the course.

I want to travel and freedive around the world, can I take the course in English?

Yes you can and I'm looking forward to it. I learned 99 percent of my courses in English, so it's no problem and I'll enjoy it too. Part of your registration is the online theoretical part for the given level, which is of course available in English.

I want to start learning now, okay?

Yes it goes! Each registration includes an online manual that covers the complete theory of the course. So you can start preparing immediately. The manual is in several languages, but mainly it is already in Czech, into which I translated it for Molchanovs and it is available online for everyone.

I can hold my breath for 50 seconds, will I really get better?

There are a lot of people at the beginning of the course, afraid that they will never be able to hold their breath for the time to freedive to twenty meters. I completely understand that 20 meters may sound unattainable. But this is not usually a problem. After understanding the processes that take place in our body and after practicing the right technique, students reach a time of about 3 minutes during the first course. Probably every average person can learn to hold their breath relatively comfortably for a time of about 4-5 minutes, even in a very short time. When someone is worried for a while, the reason is more problem with relaxation than physical imperfections, but of course this is improved by proper training.

The main problem for beginners is undoubtedly the equalization of the pressure in the middle ear. It often happens that the student can hold his breath for 5 minutes, but can not equalize the pressure. It can change in a few minutes, but it can take several days, which is very frustrating. For him, but also for the instructor. You need to persevere, don't rush, relax and keep working.  We will regularly focus on pressure equalization training and proper technique. Even though the Trutnov swimming pool is only 4 meters deep, you will get some idea of the pressure equalization and there will be the possibility of training, for example, in the Liberec 8.5-meter deep pool. You will go ready for deep events.

What do I really need the course for, can't I dive recreationally without it?

You certainly can. In the course, however, you will learn a lot of important information and advice directly from a qualified instructor. How the body works during apnea and what happens in it during the processes, about physics, about the right technique, or how to solve and prevent crisis situations. And because the best way to acquire skills is practice, there is a lot of time in the course for training in water. You will learn the correct technique of breathing before and after the freedive, how to move effectively and much more. At the end of the course you will definitely be a better freediver and you will know how to freedive safely. Even if you decide to never take any course, remember at least the most important thing: Never freedive alone!!

I've never taken a course, but I can freedive, can I skip the first level?

Yes, it is possible. Before registering, I will check your knowledge and practical skills, and if you are at the level of a basic course, you can try it. But in each course you will learn something new, the courses follow each other and it is definitely better to complete them all from the beginning.
